Stuck in the 80’s

If you were a teenager in the 80’s or even if you were a young adult you know that the 80’s was a great time for music, movies and TV.  The guys who write the Stuck in the 80’s Blog on Tampa Bay.com think so too.   In fact,  they love the 80’s so much they also do a podcast called stuck in the 80’s which is a  lot of fun.

The guys are Steve Spears and Sean Daly and they are both writers for the Tampa Bay times.  Steve Spears is the Entertainment News editor and Sean Daly writes the obituaries for the same paper.   These two are fanatical about the 80’s.

Their blogs consist of talk about movies, retro concerts, music, pop culture of the 1980’s plus up to the minute news of things related to the 1980’s.  It is a virtual clearinghouse for all things 80’s.  The podcast is  270 shows strong  is a lot of fun to listen to and has a huge international cult following.  They do interviews with 80’s pop and rock stars from Dennis DeYoung to Thomas Dolby to members of the Psychedelic Furs.  They do full length movie commentary of Purple Rain and Halloween (a Stuck in the 80’s favorite).  They dedicate whole show to bands and stars from the 80’s.  They debate about the top 5 John Cusack movies of all time.  (it’s a lively debate), rock dinosaurs, horrible hits and one hit wonders for each year in the decade.  Occasionally, they put out episodes called 80’s News Now which updates us on what our favorites from the 80’s are doing.
These two are funny, and sometimes stupid and silly but all of that makes it an enjoyable podcast.  If you love the 80’s check out the Blog and the Podcast. The podcast is available on the Blog website and on iTunes.
