Updates 8-21-12

The decisions for the RN to BSN program at my UCF have been pushed back until OCTOBER.  It has something to do with the deadline adjustments this year.

“We have always worked to notify students of admission decisions within 4-6 weeks

of the application deadline.  Unfortunately, our new deadlines were a bit early and
the August 15th notification date we were aiming for is not a possibility.

Please look for the majority of admission decisions to be made in MID OCTOBER .”

The job hunt is ongoing.  I applied for a job or requested a job transfer and nothing happened… for weeks.  I followed up after the first week and they said an email would be sent to the nurse manager of the floor to which I applied.  Still nothing happened.  I could never get the manager in her office.   I spoke with another nurse manager who said he will have a day shift opening soon.  So I let that go for a week and then followed up and got some type of  explaination to the effect of we are waiting on something from HR.  Okay.   Hiring freeze?  I don’t know.  I’ve tried to be as proactive as possible short of making myself a general pain in the ass.

One morning I was working with a patient and the nurse manager, who I left three messages for after hearing from the day shift charge nurse that two nurses were leaving, walks into the room.  I addressed her regarding the messages and what I wanted and she seemed interested and said we would talk.  I was covering the emergency room that day and she called me (after listening to my messages)  Saying we would talk and set up an interview.  This is a good thing.

The stress lab job interview I think went well a couple of weeks ago.  I am woefully under qualified for the job but I still send the “Thank you for the interview’ letter after the interview. I haven’t heard anything from them since, so I know I didn’t get the job.  I expected that though.
