Vacation 2017 Day 7- Finger Lakes Region- Lake Keuka

We got an earlier start after breakfast on this Sunday morning. Our last full day in The Finger Lakes. We stopped at the Keuka Spring Vineyard first because it was 10 am and they were one of the few winery’s already open for tasting.

The Wine was good but the highlight of that winery was that we met a couple who had this tiny little dog. They traveled with it’s own tiny bed. So cute. I got to hold it and my husband took my picture with it.

We really didn’t hit too many wineries on our last day surprisingly. We did however stop at a cute antique store housed in an old barn. This was a great big 5 dealer antique store with so many fun items. We were actually looking for a weather Vane for our chicken house with a chicken or rooster on it. No luck. We did find a lot of odd stuff, though. Stuff you would never find in Florida in an antique shop. It was so much fun to walk through there. They had a lovely yard there with a lovely view with Adirondack chairs and we were invited to spend as much time as we wanted.

We also went to Weis who was the original wine maker for Doctor Franks but then opened his own winery.  The tasting room was in an old carriage barn and it was pretty small but the wine was great!

Our next stop was Dr Franks. These wines are excellent. I highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area. We bought the most wine from this winery. They had a nice tasting and a lovely view of the lake.

Our next stop was Heron Hill Vineyards We had our tasting and the guy that did our tasting found out I was a nurse and stated that nurses like to drink and gave me extra tastings. As a result I became buzzed.

I was going to have some wine with our lunch at the Blue Heron Cafe (at heron Hill lake Keuka)
but I elected instead to have Grape Juice iced tea which was yummy and hydrating.

I ate their Margarita Flat Bread with some Cannoli’s for dessert.

Our last stop of the day was at A place on Seneca lake called Climbing Bines Hop Farm. They grow seven different hops on vines all over the place. They smell so good!! I love the smell of hops!

For dinner we ate at The Keuka Restaurant in downtown Penn Yan. We sat outside and were doing laundry across the street at Main Laundry while we ate. The food was pretty good and our waitress was nice.

After dinner and finishing the laundry we went back to our B&B to do a little packing and relax.
