Vacation – 2017 Day 1- Atlanta

We arrived at our bed and Breakfast and was shown to our room. Again we had the carriage house which was just wonderful It was like having a one bedroom flat to ourselves with a Kitchenette with a small stove, a sink and a larger-than-a-dorm-refrigerator-but-smaller-than-a-full-refrigerator. There was a beautiful sideboard with a small microwave on it and plates and cups and stuff in the bottom shelf. There was a large old square table with old chairs. I’m talking antiques not just old crappy stuff, with what I will call tall throne type chairs. Also there was a antique dresser with nick knacks on it. That was just the kitchen and dining area.

The living room had a nice couch with throw pillows, a flat screen TV on a large antique wood table and an old leather recliner chair. The floors were heart pine. From the living room we had a wonderful view of the property and the barn yard. (when we first got there the turkey came to greet us and followed us around for about 10 minutes. So funny.

The TV had cable (with the movie channels) with our own Wifi router.

The Bathroom was cute and well appointed. It had a walk in shower with subway tile, a toilet and a sink and a large wooden bathroom organizer in it. Very nice.

The bedroom had a wonderful King bed with an antique desk with a makeup mirror and old leather bound books next to it on one side and an end table on the other.

We went to Kroger to pick up some necessities for our stay, such as water, a couple of sodas, a bag or Georgia Peaches, Bulk Nuts and some cheese. This Kroger was unbelievable. it was bigger than some of the warehouse food stores are and your could get food, fresh cooked items to bed sheets there. It was just crazy. Then we came back but our items away and headed to a restaurant only a couple of blocks away, which was suggested by our inn keeper, called Ziba.

So we could have walked but it was dark and we didn’t know the neighborhood that well so we drove. If you blink you’ll miss this place and we did and had to turn around. Here is my Yelp review of Ziba Read Marie M.‘s review of Ziba’s Bistro on Yelp

We had a lovely time at Zibas and I loved the food. I recommend this to anyone who is in Grant Park in Atlanta.

WE went back to our B&B after and settled in for the night but not before greeting Mr Smokey the Turkey again. The bed was wonderfully large with lots of pillows and a pillow top mattress and I sunk in like it was a cloud. I had a wonderful nights sleep on that bed.
