My first actual day on the floor was interesting. I ended up at the desk because I STILL don’t have access to charting or anything else. Today I’m supposed to have it but I’m. Not working today. Lol. And now my boss will be gone until Thursday do I will be at the desk again tomorrow.

This is actually not a terrible thing. Instead of having a secretary at the desk my manager pulls a 7th nurse and they help with discharges, stat orders, call buttons, consults etc. it’s a good idea and that unit is so busy it’s needed. So right now I’m
Learning how to put orders into CPOE and all that stuff I just mentioned.

Yesterday I did a lot of accuchecks and helped other nurses. It was a good day. Tomorrow will be more of the same.
