Container Gardening

We have chosen to container garden this year. The containers are on the pool patio. This has been my show entirely this year. We have one more container we want to plant with some tarragon (we have seeds) because we have not found a tarragon plant anywhere this year!

WE have a small garden between the pool patio and the chicken coop but it’s a total mess right now and neither of us want to deal with it this year.

This first container has cherry tomatoes in the center with Dill, A small basil plant and Sage around the parameter

This next one is just red and yellow bell peppers with a ring of spinach seeds around the perimeter.

This is my little Herb Cart I ordered from Amazon, if i remember correctly. Yes, Amazon. (link)

The pics below just show our other heart shaped cherry tomatoes with lettuce planted around it.

And of course I have a lovely hanging flower plant.

I also planted beautiful flowers in the planting box of the chicken house. My chickens are the only chickens that I have met that don’t love to marigolds. So i don’t bother planting those. I also planted some fancy sunflower type flowers in another container near the chicken coup and cleared out the leaves and other debris out of the pot with the Plumeria bush. That is so gorgeous when it blooms and I think it hasn’t been getting enough water due to the leaves and green vegetation that has been growing in there. My chickens however, love that stupid vegetation and will literally walk out of the coop when i bring them food and water to get that vegetation.

I would like to grow some lavender so I can make lavender lemonade. Speaking of, there is this little place in New Hampshire called Pickety Place1 that just serves amazing food. It has lovely gardens and sells seeds, dips, drink mixes, knock knacks and other delightful things I love to go there when in Mass. It just a short drive from Massechsuttes where my S.I.L. lives. What I’m taking about is the lavender lemonade. Unbelievable! I highly recommend purchasing some for home. It’s just that good. Order here.
