January 28: Day 3: Devoted to Community

Reading: Hebrews 10:24-25

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
—Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV

The early church had “everything in common.” In a world where 54% of Americans feel isolated, God’s design for community is counter cultural and essential. We weren’t created to journey alone. Fellowship isn’t optional for those who want to abide—it’s foundational. When we isolate ourselves, we cut off the very relationships God uses to strengthen, encourage, and refine us. The New Testament church didn’t just attend services; they did life together, meeting daily in homes and the temple. Miracles happened in community. Breakthrough came through agreement in prayer. Generosity flowed from shared life. Today, ask yourself: Am I truly in community, or just attending services? Abiding requires authentic relationships where we’re known, loved, and challenged to grow.

Reflection: Who in your church community can you reach out to this week for deeper fellowship?
